Community Health Care Initiative in Chandauli District
For over three decades, Gramin Vikas Sansthan (GVS) has been committed to improving the lives of rural communities in Eastern Uttar Pradesh. Our mission has always centered around dignity, equity, and empowerment for the most marginalized sections of society. Among the many challenges faced by rural families, access to quality healthcare continues to be one of the most urgent and unmet needs.
In districts like Chandauli, limited healthcare infrastructure, lack of awareness, and social barriers have left communities vulnerable to preventable diseases, poor maternal health outcomes, and nutritional deficiencies. Recognizing this reality, GVS has launched the Community Health Care Program in Marufpur and surrounding villages of Chandauli district to provide accessible, community-driven health solutions.
We are proud to share that this initiative is being supported by International Village Clinic (USA), a global nonprofit organization that has partnered with us to strengthen grassroots health interventions. Their trust and collaboration reflect a shared vision of ensuring healthier and more resilient rural communities.
Focus Areas of the Program
Preventive Health Awareness
Through regular awareness sessions, we are educating families about nutrition, sanitation, menstrual health, hygiene, and disease prevention. By promoting preventive care, we are working to reduce the burden of illnesses that can be avoided with timely knowledge and practices.
Maternal and Child Health
Special attention is given to mothers and children, who often face the brunt of inadequate healthcare. Our program emphasizes safe motherhood, child immunization, breastfeeding, and nutrition awareness to give every child a healthier start to life.
Accessible Health Services
By organizing health camps, check-ups, and linking communities to government healthcare facilities, we are ensuring that rural families can access timely medical support without financial or geographical barriers.
Community Leadership in Health
We believe sustainable change can only come from within. That is why we are training local volunteers and youth as health facilitators. These community leaders play a vital role in spreading awareness, supporting families, and creating a culture of health consciousness.
